Well, my youngest daughter graduated from high school, with honors, tonight! Thinks she wants to be a doctor, so, now the real work begins! Greg

Yes, she is getting about a 40% scholarship at Creighton, and we are setting her room up like a dorm so as to save money on that end. Greg

Fine young lady! I'm thrilled to hear she is going on in further studies. My youngest graduated last year and joined her big brother (class of 2006) at Mansfield Univ. I insisted they go on to college (I'm paying dearly for that), But the opportunities I've missed over the years because I don't have a degree are well apparent. We're cheering for her on this end. (a doctor that can speak english isn't a bad thing either).

Congratulations on getting her to this point. I would like to suggest that if she decides not to be an MD, maybe she would consider getting her Doctorate in Pharmacy. My daughter spent 6 years getting hers, but has been very happy with the work now for about 5 years. The money is good and there is a lot of demand for them. She can get a job anywhere in the country. Congratulations again!!

Let us know when you come down out of the clouds and start walking on the ground again!

You are rightfully proud.

Congrats!

Congratulations!!! I second the idea of pharmacy school........if she's interested. Niece has 9 years of schooling beyond high school; 4 for B.S., 4 for Doctor of Pharmacy, 1 year of residency. Just accepted a job in the low 6 figures plus $15,000 sign-on bonus plus getting her student loans paid off. 22 years of school, beginning with kindergarten, but it sounds like a lot of money to a retired dirt farmer.

My congratulations to her. It's a very nice thing when they have a passion for their career choice and she clearly does. Good luck and mortgage the farm for this one.

Congrats!! As you know, the real thrill is when they get that college degree and are finally totally off your payroll. Just kidding, it really is when they turn into successful productive adults.

My daughter graduates tonight--also with honors. She's maintained a 4.0 plus with taking AP classes. She'll join her brother,a Jr.at Michigan State this fall. She wants to be an astrophysicist and he's getting a degree in chemistry. Both kids won a science award their senior year.

Congrats on your daughter. I have two nieces and a nephew who are pharmasists. They sure make us proud, don't they?

I know how everyone in this post feels. My son phoned me today to tell me that he just went tbrough the final hoop to get accepted into RCMP training (which should happen soon, in Regina). He is old enough and has tried enough things that I think he'll make this work.

Congratulations to your daughter on her scholastic achievements.

Sounds like y'all have a good "plan" for getting her started during the first year of college.

Be sure to look into other scholarships that may be available to her through the Financial Aid department at Creighton.

Congratulations also to the proud parents!

Congratulations.

I'm 50 years old and still draggin my feet graduating because I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Tell you what, them other younger kids? Run a heck of a lot faster than me in gym class too.

Seriously though, congratulations and wish her the best of luck from the folks here at YT.
