just got a standard monarch from a friend. amazingly, the piston/cylinder and other engine internals are GOOD. anybody have any info on this thing? i can't figure out how to get it started.....

Is it a rototiller or a two wheel tractor?I've only ever seen them as two wheel tractors. The ones that I've seen, you start it with a crank that goes in through the wheel on the left side.

Does it look like this tractor. Hal

Good lord...the mischief I would have gotten into with that, when I was a kid......I"d have had the plow yanked off and my wagon hooked on and taking a ride across the pasture..hehe!

That is a beautiful restoration.

That Monarch belongs to a man in KY. It really bruised his arm when it kicked back on him. I did the StandardTwins and a Viking. Hal

This is he Standardtwin I did in 1975. I did 5 or 6 of these tractors.

The Viking G I bought in 1960. I kept the plow for my Wards tractor.

very similar. i tried to up a pic but i'm too new of a user. lemme try again. anyway, i need rings, crank bearing, a new wrist pin bearing and a crank to get this thing started. where can i these parts?

does the crank have a ratchet mechanism to keep from turning with the motor when it starts?
