OT- Anyone else having AVG problems

Had to update AVG recently and it seems like since then I have been having connection problems. Either really slow or it can't find website's unless you try a few times then it works. Now and then it will run fine. Anyone else have similar problems since updating?
 
AVG works good on mine. I have 2 computers. One with AVG and one with Avast. Avast is also a very good free anti-virus. I cant say enough about both of them.
 
I'm suspicious my avg and computer has been corrupted again by my eldest son. He's been well warned to stay off my computer. I caught him on it again yesterday when he wasn't coming outside to do some work.
Figures as it too him 36 hrs to download a hijacking worm last Dec after a total harddrive wipe to clean the previous worms & viruses out.
This week it took him only 3 days after the last harddrive wipe to possible download viruses.
Young fool rebooted my computer and never even started the avg program for some protection before he started downloading trash.
Lets just say he got tuned up after I caught him. $120.00 to the local computer nerd for the past two system cleanups.

Sounds like it's time to change your password. :)
 
I do on occasion leave the computer for a minute then get waylaid into another task. Usually the system does get locked. The wife is true offender, always leaving the system open and forgetting about it.
Can't do much to cure her of that, she couldn't even find her keys this morning. She left the keys to everything in the truck overnight parked in the yard,again.
At times I wonder why I even try going ahead with the other four working backwards.
 
I wasn't having good luck with AVG. Even with everything updated, it can't block Trojan viruses and some other spyware/malware. It was also making my system run slow. Finally just gave in and bought an anti-virus program. Works great, no problems in 3 months.
 
"I caught him on it again yesterday".....If this truly is YOUR PC, put a password on it so he is unable to access/do anything with it. BTDT.

There is a password. However if the kid gets to the computer in the 2 minutes before the password protected auto screensaver.
If we doesn't lock the system the instant we leave it, he will find a way in while our backs are turned.
Kid will download anything, He says. Well you have AVG and Panda, it should be ok.The boy is going to find himself missing some luxuries as well as getting another wailing.
I'm using FireFox as a browser and beginning to wonder it's even worse than microcrap exploder.
 
I have seen problems on two computers with a recent update of AVG. I had to remove it from both of them. I installed AVAST and it seems to be working fine.
