The man who farms part of my ground got his big IH tractor like that one stuck on our property and he ended up getting his skid loader and diggin it out. He wans't too happy!!

But all's well that ends well!!

last thing you want to use is chain.smartest thing would have been for him to unhook his impliment before burying the tractor.might even have got out on his own.now he needs to get unhooked and some cable and snatch block and big red in front with a winch.

Them front tires sure look clean, how does that happen? I have always heard that a 2wd tractor ain't stuck till the front tires ain't move'n, looks like them didn't move much.

I know the feeling. Got my 48A stuck this week end. Never been stuck before. James (like geezer) has always said, don't bury it and I didn't. It was only down about 8 - 10 inches.

Both wheels weren't buried. James got the heavy metal trailer ramps and some chain. Put the chain through the wheel that was in the mud and lifted it with the f/e loader. I slid a ramp under the wheel, then James lowered the wheel onto the ramp. James pulled the chain off, backed the other tractor out of the way, cranked up the A, raised the mower and it drove right out.

I went to another spot and mowed.

No one hurt, lesson learned, just got my tractor dirty. (LOL)

I'm not familar with that JD but unless it has a locking differential the wheels on that side don't appear to have spun that much. Given how titled the tractor is the other front tires appear to have spun themselves as deep as the back ones.

That will probably take a pair of dozers to get out.

How true.
As somebody else pointed out. There is something wrong with this picture. The front tires never spun and yet the rear's did.

saw it first hand ,the ground is black sand on top quick sand on down ,Walker farms from Danville IL owns the tractor ,happened near Watseka IL

Around here you'd simply say that one wheel was on a rock...
Stranger things have happened. I'm just glad it's not mine because that is likely to require a 7 or an 8 for extraction.

Anyone that's never been stuck can't appreciate the feeling. Lots of great ideas from others but they all come after the tractors layin' on its belly in the mud. Sure am glad I never got stuck!! HA, HA, HA!!

Not about to fess up just how stuck I had the 1066 a couple weeks ago clearing trees with the rear blade, except to say too muddy to go forward with the blade hooked into the tree roots, and too slick to back up across the roots.

My Ford 5000 is still basically out of commission with steering problems, but limped it up to the 1066 5 miles away. The 5000 has a locking differential, you would be amazed what a little tractor can pull if both rears are digging equally.
