in search of allis parts.

We left the farm saturday morning and stopped by R Aiken's land of 107 tractors. We talked for a while, then loaded up another crankshaft for the WC, and a head for it, a "B" front end with some of the bushings left in it, WC rocker arms and pushrods, a D14 manifold to put on the WD head on the WC, a front pulley, a set of mostally new WC bearings (rods and mains), and he showed me how to fix the govenor on the C, then we yanked out a throwout bearing for my B.

While Rich and I were out and about, my mom decided that walking around 107 tractors wasnt as exciting as i thought it was and decided to take a nap in the truck. After a bit, Rich fired up a skid loader and we loaded it up and started unloading it into the truck. This made the truck shake and rock back and forth. That and the noise from the loader woke my mom up. In her semi-consious state she forgot where she was and thought she was back at the farm waking up to another earthquake.....
Now all i need for the WC are O-rings, Gaskets, and piston rings. Great.....

After that, we took off to go see DickL. We were way behind sceduel (sp?), so unfortunatelly we wouldnt get to see him, and would have to simply offload some parts.

After the beautiful block and head that Dick rebuilt and gave me, i really diddnt feel right giving him my old block, with cracks along the top, and a massive crack running most of the lenght of the bottom of the block, so i got another good block off of Rich and took that one. I hope dick doesnt mind :)

I also found a non-cracked head unlike the one that came with the B, and a better crankshaft, and a better, less wore cam. So we took all this up to him.

We arrived and unloaded everything and snapped some pictures. Dick has some really nice tractors up there!!

We got home at 1:38 this morning. I got alot of permit hours in, which is great. It was a fun trip, but next time, id really like to get to finally meet Dick and some other forumgoers along the way.

I diddnt get as much footage as i wanted to, but here ya go, enjoy!!

Im not sure why, but i cant get the video to work. Thats in the post above this one. Sorry

I just got a chance to peek in on the boards.
I was wondering why you unloaded so much. I figured you wanted me to repair the yellow head. I jumped on it this evening to see what it needed.
It was about as gritty in the oil as I have seen. Some how it must have been running with almost no rings.

The two end valves were not seating

I see the oil pasage to the head had something broke off down inside. I flattened what ever it was with a mill cutter in a slow rpm drill and then drilled it out with a masonary bit. Same with a broken off manifold stud. retaped them all so that is ready to go.

Back in the parts washer to clean out the ports and grind the seats after a set of guides. The valve stems are scored deep from the grit in the oil. Looks like the seats can be reground unless I find something after it is cleaned up more. Valves are not going to be reuseable.

Yellow Head

Oh, geeze Dick!! lol!!

No, i wanted you to have the yellow head!! Its the one that was on my first C last summer. All that stuffs been sitting around here and i thought you could make better use of it then i could. Its yours, you can do whatever you want with it. "C"ing what tractor its off, there has to be something wrong with it....

That stuck peice must have been the file that broke off in it. I coulda swore all that got torched out of there tho...

I hope ya liked everything we brought ya, Thanks a million!!! "Good Deal" :)
