AMC Eagle and concorde ???

I was given a Concorde and have an Eagle. I want to take the 2 of them and make one good car out of them. The eagle has a bad tranny but the Concorde has a good engine and tranny. So what I want to do is pull the engine from the Concorde and the tranny and put them in the eagle. Ya I know it will be 2 wheel drive then but that is ok. So will the tranny bolt up and can I use the drive shaft from the Concorde in the engine with that set up or will I have to make a drive shaft. Wife's car is about on its last legs so I have to fix something for her that might stand up to her lead foot.
Thanks

What you'll have to contend with is using the Concord's driveshaft to make up the difference in length from the transfer case, which you'll no longer need.

AMC was on a shoestring budget when they designed the Eagle, so the Concord and the Eagle were on the same wheelbase. Everything else should work. You'll still need to keep an eye on your CV axles up front, because even though you're not driving them, they're still turning and are succeptible to wear...even without the torque forces.

Good luck.

Both CV axles have been removed so all that is there is the wheel bearings. I'm also thinking about removing the diff. from under the front just to make the front a bit lighter but will have to look it over to make sure that it will not make the front to weak. I have a wife that seems to think a car can drive in stuff a truck can so she beats the he doulbe hockey sticks out of any thing. Shoot I have to get on her to even check the oil at least once a week

Around here there seems to be so many cars and trucks ( Inspections scare people into getting something else) for cheap money, I can't see doing a swap like that unless your where on a island where you couldn't get something else, it's a classic and will be worth something, or you have too much time on your hands. Even if you don't count your time being worth something, you'll have some money into it before long.

Just remember what AMC stands for. Ain't My Car.LOL It shouldn't be too bad to do, those old AMC cars were rather simple. The only things I would wonder about is drive shaft length and if the front wheel bearings will stay together without the front cv joints.
