What did you give for the "H"? I planted on the 24th as well, mine isnt at that leaf stage yet but should be in a day or tow. Soil was cooler I am sure. My No tilled corn is up but only about 2". I am curious if it will catch up to the min tilled corn. I know with this lack of rain I am wishing I would have no tilled all the land I didnt put chicken manure on.

May make a few mad if I say a price but I paid $700.

Had to buy a new battery but otherwise it is ready to work.

Don't know what I will use it for but it runs good.

Nice to see the rows coming up. Around here most corn is still a week or so from showing up.

Is that H original paint?? Man, it looks nice and straight.

A guy has an M sitting along the road here, has a not very impressive paint job, and a welded up loader. I think he wants around $3000 for it. Been there a while. If it sells I ll let you know, you can haul yours up, should easily bring $4000 :)

Paint is deceiving in the picture.

Yes it has been repainted and the hood colors do not match the tank.

The corn I planted the 4th and 5th of May was spiking though yesterday.

If you's from NE, someone would fuss at you for hauling the tractor without it being tied down :>) ........nice pics.

I learned on here all you have to do is set the brakes and put it in gear.

I may block the wheels next time with some 2x4s.

Also found out you cannot use cement blocks to hold up a few pounds. So I started using to 5 gallon buckets to hold things up.:)~})

Gary

We have not started on the corn just yet and i am somewhat glad that we held off as they are calling for three more days of frost over here on the east side of the buckeye . It is going to be nice today and tonight things are headed down hill .

Ya sure know yer business Gary,

Looks really good! Where in the heck did you find that sweetheart of an H? Somebody kept it in the house 'er somethin'? :>)

Allan

And whatever ya do, never use pipefittings for a hydraulic application.

Think it sets up some kind of a nuclear reaction 'er somethin'. :>)

Allan

Corn looks good and tractor looks great, even if its the wrong color. For $700, you got a really nice deal. Looks like its been well taken care of.

Did you pull that trailer and H with the old IH truck you have? Did you hook up the electric brakes or put a pair of mudflaps on it to slow you down.(Quebec air brakes as we call them up here in Canada.) Have a safe day

Good looking tractor you just bought for $700.

Good purchase price might make a few IH folks see "red" and a few JD folks "green" with envy.

Hope it is a good tractor and serves you well.

Hey Nancy........several years ago??, Allan posted a similar picture of a tractor just a-setting on a trailer; he'd already 'unboomered' it. He caught all kinds of grieve from the PC crowd, also for not 'properly' supporting the front end of another one; Gary and Allan both knew what the post was in relation to...........

I sure am glad no one has seen this photo of "Uncle Earl" on cinder blocks.

Should the 5 gallon buckets be used with the open end up or down?

The reason I'm asking is because they stack higher if the lower bucket has the open end down.

At least you have them setting up correctly. So many people want to set them up on their sides which only leads to failure.

Hey - want to make $100.00 on it? You have to haul it to Indiana for me!:^) Very nice tractor and stand of corn. It is very wet here, this state has less than 5% of corn planted and what is planted is in severe risk for rot and other moisture damage.

The H looks GREAT! Not much corn up here in central IN. I planted my sweetcorn on 4/24, and it's up. Only seen two fields of corn up around here. Very little has been planted in Boone and Hamilton counties.

Nice look'in H Gary. About 10 years ago, I stored a super H for a buddy of mine, it was in about the same shape. Engine would make half a turn on 6 volts and be running. Ran real good and didn't use a drop of oil. One day he called and showed up with a fella. The guy started the tractor, drove it around in all the gears and handed my buddy $750.00 cash, got back on the tractor and drove away. I would have given him that, if I would have known it was for sale.

Congrats Gary, that looks better than any I have seen here. Every time I get to wish'n mine was planted already we get another inch or two of rain and every one's corn around me looks worse and worse, then I am greatful mine is still in the bag. Looks I might get a chance to get mine planted next weekend, if the the water will get off it.

Ahh...., well those CMU's (block) probably are not the most desirable cribbing, blocking, falsework kind of materials to use, won't get into that, probably not enough weight to make them fail in compression, but I would strongly suggest an alternate material or device, hard wood timber blocks, jack stands or similar, you know us safety etiquette freaks on YT cringe at the use of concrete masonry units for this kind of work, LOL.... well ya'all have heard me rant about these enough, but be safe regardless, don't trust those for too much, they do crumble at times.

That's a very nice looking H. The best part is it looking like it's riding on good tires! My Super M came a bit cheaper then that but it really, really needs tires. They don't give those suckers away!

Allen in NE: You sure are right about those pipe fittings! Don't tell anyone but one of my tractors has 4 of five of them on there! Been there for about 50 years, I'm pretty sure if word go out I could be tried at the Hague!

Corn looks good too!
