AETA Work Day

We had a work day at the new Antique Engine and Tractor Association grounds today. The first load of timbers arrived and had to be coated with preservative on all 4 sides. Every board had to be turned to get all the side covered. Several people showed up, some worked outside cleaning up and cutting brush, the rest of us worked on the boards. Got them all coated and the long ones moved over to the crib driveway. I'm tired tonight!! The next load arrives this week, so we will do it again next weekend. Chris

Really good looking timbers. What are you treating them with? With the number of timbers you have to treat - wonder if a "dipping tub" might reduce the labor? Probably require more gallons of treat tho. bob f.

Not sure what it was, felt oily, kinda like linseed oil but supposed to keep insects from bothering it. Yes, it would take a lot more liquid to treat them by dipping, and I wouldn't want to have to try to lift them out of a tank. Chris
