Branded 50 calves for the neighbor lady this morning,I'm quite sure I've put their brand on more of their cattle than they ever did started branding for their family more than 40 years ago. Two hours start to finish.
We also did 50 of ours in the afternoon and turned them out to pasture one more chore done with for the. Will do another 100 later this week.

Never seen that done we dont brand here but I imagine you are talking huge ranch. Could you post some pictures I would appreciate that. Thanks in advance.

Was wondering.. after you brand a cow. Do you use any Sav I think it's called on the burn? Also .. are you running them threw some kind of pen? Thanks

Here's a couple pictures of my brother helping his in-laws brand a few years ago.

In Colorado all cattel get branded. Any time cattle change hands the brand inspector is required.

We branded about 650 head Saturday morning. Sunday afternoon we went and helped a neighbor do about 500 or so.

Here in north central Nebraska the calves are roped by riders on horseback and drug out of a pen to teams of wrestlers. Usually 4 or 5 ropers and 6 or 8 teams of wrestlers at the average branding. The calves are branded, nnalert, and sometimes dehorned and castrated(if applicable) in about 45 seconds. No salve or anything is put on the brand unless it is burned clear though the hide, which is rare.

I'll have to see if I can find any pics. I know there's a website that has some if I can find the link I'll post it.
