Gun Opinion

I know a gun is not a tractor, but it is a farm and ranch tool that is sometimes carried on a tractor.
I am looking to replace my old and very worn 22lr that that parts are no longer available for. I really want the simplicity and reliability of a bolt action.
Today I looked at a CZ brand model 513 Basic. It had a really nice feel and good looks too. Do any of you have experience with or know anything about a CZ 513 BASIC?

I do not have any experience with that model, and not much with any CZ, but I can say I have never heard anything at all bad about any CZ. They have a very good reputation.

Some one else will know more, but hope this helps a little.

Savage model 24 over and under break action. .22 rimfire and a shot gun. Now there is versatility.
Short, light, tough and handy.

I'm not familiar with that rifle. I purchased a a Marlin 795 today from Dick's Sporting Goods. List is $169, but they had it for $109 (including a $20 mail in rebate).

The gun is a semi-auto 22lr, with 10 shot clip and automatic hold open when the last shot is fired. It has a synthetic stock, a dovetail for a scope, sling mounts, and is pretty compact compared to a other guns. It was recommended to me by a friend who is in a couple of target leagues. He said he prefered it over a Ruger 10/22.

Good luck.
Good source for gun parts

From what I know they are good guns. Myself, I have upgraded to the .22 magnum. I have killed quite a few deer with it. I have a destroy permit to thin them out a little.

Good luck, Gene

I carry a M-1 Carbine with a 30 shot clip 22 not enough fire power. We have a lot of wild dogs around that aren't afraid of any thing.

I own 2 cz.I shoot in matches with one, it will make you a very good gun.You can buy a trigger kit to make the trigger better for $10.00.You will be happy with it.[/b]

A friend of mine was the firearms manager at Gander mountain and said they were the best bolt 22 and not expensive either.

Hi Roy,

I currently have a Winchester model 77. It is a good shooter and I really like it but it has problems. Often the bolt will not go back far enough to cock or pick up the next shell. Occasionally it will fire 2 or 3 bullets for every pull of the trigger. A gunsmith tried to fix it but no luck. Many places list parts available but when you order parts they are back ordered until a parts gun comes in wich is rarely.

Ive got a CZ 452 .17hmr. Beautiful wood, blueing and shoots great. For the money I dont think you can buy a better rimfire.

You did not say what brand the gun was. Most parts are available if you know where to look.
Have you tried Gun Parts Company/Numrich?
Numrich

I've had the Cz 452 bolt gun for 15 years now after previously owning Winchester & Remington semi autos. absolutely NO contest - the CZ is vastly superior! I use it almost exclusively with subsonics (silencers are legal over here) & its completely silent & deadly accurate.
