Hello Guys.
Thanks for all the help I have got off this site, I have two Farmall H tractors, I have now rebuilt both engines over the last year, both tractors run good, one has all new tires, the second tractor has bad tires, I have two tires that could be usable, one tire is on this tractor and is a 11x2x38, I have another tire that is 12x4x38 could I run these two tires for a while, the tractor has not been running for the last two years, and I would like to use it to mow grass with, I cannot buy tires at this time, I lost my job, they closed the doors, I have found another job, but make half what I was making, so I cannot buy tires at this time, what would be the difference in size when mounted ? Thanks for all the help.
Ken.

The Firestone web site shows an 11.2x38 tire having a rolling circumfrence of 172 and the 12.4x38 is 178. I'd say go for it.

Might want to alter air pressure to get nearer the same radius and minimize wear on the spider gears. Spider gears really aren't designed to turn all the time, but they are pretty rugged. I ran a JD A with two different size tires that way for years without any problem. Add air to the smaller tire to about 18psi, then let the larger one down to about 12 psi. Measure the height of each axle shaft and go from there.

Deflate the bigger one a bit and run the little one at average air pressure.

You'll be fine.
