Leon stone picker

I just got a Leon stone picker today and was wondering if any one has one or has ever used one because I could use a little advise. I has a 4 feet wide bucket which dumps into a hopper which dumps the rocks. At what depth do they work best, how fast or slow? or any thing else which may be good to know about this machine.

Codie, The first few times I used my "picker" (just like your model) I was disappointed as I dug up large chunks of soil & sod along with the stones. However my neighbor told me how to use it correctly & now I find it very usefulful. He said to work up the field completely leaving the stones in place. Then after the final dragging prior to planting, the stones now lay up on top of the soil free of dirt & easily assessible. Then I just drive up to them, lower the tines a couple of inches below the rocks & then drive ahead slowly. After the stone is now up on the tines I let it complete its cycle dropping the rock into the bin while driving to the next one. Saves a lot of time & work climbing on & off the tractor.
