I haven't found morel 1 yet here in SE Minnesota. They should start popping any day now though. We finally got rain.

We found 6-7 last thursday night on a south facing slope in NW IN. It was at the "secret spot". My wife is from Pittsburgh and gets great enjoyment out of us looking for mushrooms and having them for dinner. She thought I was crazy until she had one. Now she's on board.

thought I hit one with my 20 ga. but must have miss. thing just disappared! they sure are fast. been trying to get one for years.

lots of walking, not much picking,,, 3 of us found approx 30 saturday, mostly the large grays, i quess the big yellows are waiting 4 this rain that is coming down now,,, south central indiana

Found several messes already around Farmington IL. I guess I should say my Dad has, he found a nice spot that had a bunch of them two days in a row

(quoted from post at 13:23:46 04/28/09) Anybody having any luck hunting mushrooms ? been pretty slim here in east Illinois

Not here is Saskatchewan, unless they are snow mushrooms and enjoy -10 degree nights. The coldest darn spring I can remember.

Best yr. we ve had in a long time . We ve found over 500 black ones and the whites and yellows are coming on strong . We hav nt had to spend that much time looking , the patches are just full , if ya find one you ll find 20 .

Here in Cent. MI we have plenty of moisture now we need a little more heat. Next two weeks should be good.Have to find an area where the turkeys aren't too plentiful though. Those buggers will pick em clean!

Here in North West KY it has been a bumper crop. I went two weeks ago with out meaning too. It's hard to make time to go when there is so much to do round here but when your work'n on fences you just can't walk past'm. People here are not find'n large numbers but the ones people are finding are huge. I found about 20 in a 10' circle and 4 or 5 of them were big as a beer can.

Maybe wtih all the rain this week you'll have some more pop up.

Good luck.

Dave

Too early in central MI, and previous poster right, there are no mushrooms where turkeys are concerned. Since the turkey population mushroomed, I haven't found a one im my favorite secret places.

Nothing night before last, warmed up a little yesterday and found 30 nice grays last night. If we can get a little more heat, should really take here in central Iowa.

I find 'em all the time growing in the cow sh@# in the pasture. Little white ones with a purple ring. I ate two of them one time and visited mars and the milky way and got lost for a day. I guess you aren't supposed to eat that type, at least not if you have things to do.
