IA Gary and other IA corn farmers

Sweet corn planted in garden about 2 weeks ago is up 3 in. high. The last few days of 80 deg. temps we had here in SC no doubt helped, as did the rain which came after planting and the year old turkey litter in the row. I see you are supposed to get temps in 60s with showers for the next few days so maybe your corn planted earlier will come up. The weather guessers are also talking about flooding possible in the Iowa City area, that's going to make some people nervous.

The flooding should be minor if any. Unless there's rain coming I don't know about.

Barely got to 60 today. Corn won't do much with these temps.

I have 160 acres in and don't know if that is good or bad.

Don't think it's too late on the 160, but time will tell. Cross fingers anyway. I haven't been able to do anything due to sinus infection and lack of sleep caused by it, but better now.

On the gas 560?, have you tried synthetic 20-50 weight oil. I had good results with that on a worn car one time.

Planted 200 acres of corn on April 22 and 23; then got 2 1/2 inches of rain starting Friday evening. Checked corn today, the 28th, and most had a root about 3/4 inch long. Temps were over 60 today so should be up in less than a week. This is NE of Osage, IA.
