Prayed for rain and now it is raining with forecasted rain until Saturday.

Hope it all doesn't end up in the creek.

Nancy also sprayed the hay meadow yesterday with a new product GrazonNext.

great pics james, looks like you are getting ahead of the game. round here just about when it gets almost dry enough to get in the fields, it rains. now i got curly doc coming up everywhere. have ta get the 2-4d out and do some squirtin.
by the way, nancy sure is a hot rod on that sprayer!!!! jez did she make that turn quick!!!

She is the "scientist" in the partnership.

We both have our Texas Chemical Applicator's License, but she's the boss on this part of our operation.

Her dad installed a Behlen power steering unit on "Old John" her 48A.

That tractor can turn on a dime and give back 9 cents in change.

She "fusses" at me when I lock the brake on right turns while mowing with the sickle mowers.

Glennster - we have lots of curly dock, too.

We used 2-4-D on the hayfield in Feb to take out the cool season brodleaf weeds. We normally use RU in Feb, but we had such a warm winter, the coastal was showing green so we couldn't use RU.

We went to GrazonNext for the hayfield because it is labeled for horse nettle which was a huge problem last year. Also, GN doesn't have any hold at all for grazing and only a 7 day hold to cut for hay.

We plan on using Rifle-D for the other areas on the farm.

10 day forecast has anywhere from a 80% to 30% chance of rain for the next 10 days. As long as we don't get a toad strangler, we'll be ok.

I "fuss" because tight turns using the wheel brake tears up the ground. I used them spraying to try not to miss areas. Next w/e, I will be out in the hayfield smoothing them down.

All that work being done and it was only running with half an engine. At least it sounded like it was only hitting on two cylinders. :)^D

Thanks for sharing.

dunno nan, i generally throttle down on a turn like that, course you texans only got 2 speeds, off and wide open!!!!!
