i bought a 1650 last summer. has 1655 on the side decal and a 3 speed power shift. s.n. says it's a 1969 model year and a 1650(on the aluminum serial plate). IT IS REALLY STRONG ON PULLING. i have been told now it is a 1750/1755. engine block casting # is 166452A, injection pump # is DBGFG633-24DH.

I'm wondering , is it a 283 diesel or a 310.

is the tractor serial # cut into the frame somewhere ?

how can i tell what i have.

thanks for the help

No,the serial number isn't stamped in the frame. Later 1650s could have the 3 speed. Don't know about the block casting numbers. A few guys on the Oliver forum could tell you pretty quick. A 1755 would have had a whole different rearend. Hydraulic pump would have been on the side under the left platform. Totally different looking outfit.

You're not complaining that the 1650s had a lot of power are you?

no, not complaining, but don't want a rod out the side from over fueling either....if it is the smaller block. never had a 6 cyl 70 hp tractor before...most around here are 4 cyl....a little unused to so much torque and reserve hp.
