My JD1520 gas tractor is backfireing when i have a load on it and give it full throttle, is it as simple as timing or is it the carb? also have and exhust leak at the manifold. the tractor has sat all winter but was doing it last year as well. The hyd seems to be messed up as well the bucket shimes and is not smooth when you lift it up ?

you may have a leaking intake valve.a leaking exhaust manifold can let cold air into the cylinders when it is shut off and the cold air can cause the valves to worp

If you have the factory JD auxilliary hydraulic valve assembly for the loader, you should find a speed control lever on the side of it. Oftentimes, if you adjust that lever for slower loader speed while raising the loader, you will be able to find the fastest speed at which it will raise without shimmying and then leave it at that setting.

How are the loader hydraulics connected to the tractor? If somebody messed up and used the rear scv's. A loader, log splitter, air seeder, post hole digger etc. Won't work worth beans and will make nasty sound while cavitating the front pump.
