I wasnt sure where to post this but here is a question. I have a 610 bobcat I have owned for a few years now. Just started having a problem and that is I can go back and forth but it isnt turning very good. It seems like something isnt grabbing. For those of you who know the 610 bobcats know they are belt driven and not hydrostatic. Is it the pump going out or maybe a valve that runs the clutches? It has power at the bucket I can lift a load still just losing on the turning. Any ideas on what I should look at would be great. thanks

Your steering clutches are wearing out of just need an ajustment. A 610 should only have about 5 inches lever travel forward to reverse. Remove the large round caps in the side pannels between the wheels, pull out the cotterpins holding the nuts and tighten each one about the same until proper lever travel is restored. be careful not to over tighten, or they will bind, (fight each other, and you loose nuteral) check with a dealer and get a copy of that page of the service manual. If you loose one lever, one direction sudenly, it means that you lost a thrust bearing. I had a 610 for 16 years, actually they are quite simple.

the heavy compression spring on the driven side of the shevead belt would likley prevent any belt slippage. I had to use a 2X4 plock and a sledge Hammer and gently maul the block in every time that I needed to open this pully on mine.
