I have a JD B Tractor i took the back wheel off now i can't keep it from working off the axle. I have tried severely thing but none worked. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Mine did the same thing, I just kept tightening it eventually it quit. Tighten it as tight as you can, then drive it around a bit and tighten it again. That how I did mine and I finally got it.

When I bought my B it had sheet metal shims in between the hub and locking ring. Might try that to make the hub tighter.

Getting rear wheel clamps tight on the axle is a common problem after removing them.

The following checklist may be helpeful:
1) Use all new bolts.
2) Clean up all surfaces well, (clamps and axles)
3) Tighten systematically, keeping the clamp "straight or level".
4) Use a long/heavy wrench, as bolts must be TIGHT.
5) Operate tractor a little, re-tighten bolts; operate a few hours; re-tighten bolts. Operate many hours: re-tighten bolts. This process will take some time.

Wrap several layers of waxed paper around the hub before you put the clamp over it. This will take up space like a shim and will also aid in removal. This is per the owners manuals.

I had the same problem and found that rapping on the collar as I was working my way around tightening it helped. Also make sure that the splines are clean (no oil, grease etc), and there shouldn't be paint where the hub hits the collar ring. It should be metal to metal. Good luck.

I tried the wax paper and i count get to work. So then i made three sheet medal wedges and took a hammer and pecked the ring as we tighten up and went around it from one to the other. Then we took sever rides and checked and never once did we haft turn the nut it stayed right there. I think i got it this time. I sure thank all you for your in put. Thanks Very Very Much
