1080 massy, Hyd

I have a 1080 Massy, I have an old Allis chamber 9' swather with a one way cylinder, The 1080 has 2 way cylinder hoses/valves, can i hook up a one way hose/cylinder from the swather to one of the two way cylinder/connectors on the tractor and have it work with out any problems. Will it damage the tractor Hyd pump???

Shouldn't be any problem. Do it with our 285 all the time.

You will be ok. When you go to lower the swather the lever will fight you and the hyd. will grown a bit. This is normal when using a oneway cylinder with a 1080/85 & 285.

I think it is worth mentioning that you need to turn the adjusting screw to one way action. This will prevent the backpressure when you are lowering the implement. Not sure just where it is on the 1080. On my 1085 it is just under the lever which is in the cab.

I have used one way cylinders for years on my 1085 as well as my MF 275 and MF 255 with no problems
