Clutch for a Jinma 254

After sitting idle for the winter, the clutch on my Jinma 254 is apprently stuck. It stays in gear even when the clutch is depressed. The is no discernable pressure on the clutch pedal. Short of splitting the tractor and rebuilding the clutc, what can I do.

One of two things come to mind;

First, call the Nanking Clutch Factory #21 and ask for advice.

Second, set the whole works out by the curb for Monday morning pickup.

The clutch may be just stuck to the flywheel. Sometimes you can break it free getting the tractor moving and stomping on the brake & clutch pedal repeatedly. You would probably get more help over at tractorbynet in the chinese tractor forum.

I agree that it is probably just stuck to to the flywheel. Sometimes it is possible to break it free by rocking the tractor. The best method is to use a pry bar thru an access hole and break it loose. Might not have an access hole. More risky is to tow it and by using a combination of the brakes and clutch break it free as was mentioned earlier. Next winter be sure to "prop" the clutch pedal in the disengaged position to avoid this problem again.

Tie the pedal down and let it run........in neutral or park; never seen one that wouldn't vibrate loose.

Ive heard everything from castings to wiring is junk on those tractors.If there is no pressure on the clutch pedal something probably broke inside.

Do what a several of the guys said about solving the problem.
Don't pay any attention to the couple of idiots below.
If it were them they'd be whining like little girls.

Well, '28 D, '35 A, '54 60, '59 440, all made here by hard working Americans. I know, it's a World Economy now. We will all have a new lower standard of living because of it. That's progress??? You guys go buy all the Jimas you want. Maybe your job will be the next one exported to Chinee.

Don't know Don't care. I never made enough money to participate in the economy so I can't afford new or even newer stuff. I like my old stuff better anyway. I'll stick to watching old Charlie Chann movies. They are full of old American made cars. Jinma Jinma Jinma
