Disked in about 7 acres of corn stalks today. This feild is gonna ne soybeans and I wanted to knock it down and in so the ground starts warming, cornstalks start breaking down, and so as many corn kernals and weeds seeds germinate as possible before final seed bed tillage prior to planting and spraying. I guess I should have taken a pic huh? Next on agenda is to set up so I can spread chicken littler and get it disced in ASAP, preferably on a cloudy day with no wind so it doesnt dry out before I can get it disked in. Then I will be spreading the cattle manure, not sure if disking it in will be enough to incorperate it, really do not want to plow if possible.

Beat you by a day. Disced yesterday, chisel plowed today. Hope to get some oats in tomorrow and finish them up Saturday. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

We incorparate our manure with an Oliver feild cultivator pulling a spike tooth drag behind that. Does a great job prepping the seed bed, and 1 pass will really work in the manure. 2 passes in the spring over fall plowing will have a very nice seed bed.

Got started ahead of you RR - but you're going to beat me to the finish.... Disked some in March! Gotta replace wear surfaces on plow - probably tomorrow. Then off to the races!!

Well...I'm not done yet. Too many things can and do go wrong. You know what they say,the best layed plans of mice and men....

Also started disking stubble in March. pulled out the chisel plow today, and tomorrow I'll try to get potatoes, peas, and spinach planted before the rain.
