20' Tye soybean drill's, any good?

Are Tye drills overall pretty good or are there certain models that a person should steer clear from. There is one for sale near me for $850, seems pretty darn cheap for a 20" soybean drill.

I've always said - you can't truly own a Tye drill... It's like you are renting one, since you're always having to replace so many parts on one...

I never raised soybeans, but for wheat, Great Plains was a much better drill.

My Tye was a mid-80's or late 80's model - maybe the newer ones were better...

I've owned one, they are light duty I would say.
Like Howard said great plains are the top of the line even though JD says their's is as good now! But for $800 not a bad drill uless you have a lot of acres and heavy ground!
Good luck
