Beater Bar Chain For Old John Deere Manure Spreader

Looking for replacement beater bar drive chain for Model M 1940"s model John Deere manure spreader. I am going to check John Deere today but wondering if anyone knows for sure where this item can be purchased. Thanks.
 
Check the other forums (either implement or tool talk). Someone found a source online for the chain and various pieces but I don't have the bookmark on this computer. It was within the last couple of weeks.
 
John Deere still has a lot of the older chain available.

Do you know if it's flat steel chain or the more obscure cast/malleable link chain?
 
Thank you I don't know that much about the chain to tell the difference but I have the other chain on other side of spreader so is same I have the old original JD part number however.
 
Bob - thanks for the response - I checked the owner's manual and the chain is No 55 flat plain steel. Takes 37 links.
 
The chain I need and JD may have it but have not checked, is a #55 flat plain steel link - takes 37 links.
