slant dash john deere A

was slant dash a indicator of electric start? i'm claiming ignorance just getting my feet wet at all this restoration stuff
thanks rc

It is an indicator of a generator and battery if for only lights or starter or both. The slant part was to make gearshift clearance. That is covered very well in the archives.

This is a photo of "Easy" our 46 slant dash A.

He was easy to spruce up.

Use "Easy" as a mowing tractor.

Ours is a 46A; don't recall the serial number right off hand.

Keep all the identification on the tractors on the computer at work.

Good back up system available at work should anything go wrong.
