haven"t sold a butcher calf by hanging wieght in 12 or 15 years what is a fair price got a lady that wants a 1/2 thought me and the missus would keep the other 1/2.
thanks pete

Very good Bullsteer=hanging wght multiplied by1.67=live weight Then apply market price
Example 800lb dresses out 480lb
That day's market on very good steers is $1.09
800lb steer sells for $872
Fine steer dresses 60% 1.67
good steer or fine heifer dresses 55% 1.82
avarege steer or good heifer dresses 50% 2.00
dairy 0r unfinished calf dresses 45% 2.23

I got a break from my brother - he only charged me 1.35 per processed pound for half a steer (not hanging weight - packaged weight), my share of the processing (tenderized the round steaks) was $135.
