Ferguson TO-30 oil pan

This is a dumb question, but can anyone tell me the exact location of the oil pan plug for removing oil from the pan on a TO-30. Im a 17 year old trying to keep my father's farm going, and I need to change the oil on this tractor, he never did. Thanks.

id guess its at point closest to the ground on that pan. Might be buried in caked on sludge/grease/dirt in there. Good Luck!!

Yeah, I found it I think, its a square nut on the end of the pan toward the seat, the only problem is, it's semented in place and I can't loosen it, and I don't want to strip it, any suggestions?

four point socket.

Not a regular 6 or 12.

Make sure youre turning it the right way. No, seriously. Sometimes i get mixed up turning something downsideup.

probabally 1/2 or 9/16 id assume, mabey stick a pipe over the wrench. Do so at your own risk....

If youre turning it the correct way to loosen it, i dont think you could strip it. Might round off the sides of the head though.

Torch mabey?? used very carefully??

Clean all of the caked on grease and dirt with kerosene or some other degreaser, then hit it with a dose of PB Blaster. That should loosen it up.

yeah, Im gonna clean it up some, that should do the trick, this nut is supposed to be ON the oil pan on this tractor right? Im not trying to unscrew a blowout plug am I? Its size is roughly 11/16, mabey 3/4. Its not on the bottom, it comes off the back of the pan at a diagonal pointing down...

not knowing what a blowout plug is, that sounds like the oil plug.

Its not really a nut, but a plug.

If its not on there oil will run out, so yea.

If its diagonal coming down that sounds right to me.

Use a tight fitting wrench and turn in proper direction.Try taping on plug or wrench handle as you turn it.Be careful with heat, could start a fire in the oil pan.an air impact wrench with tight fitting socket might work. Go easy and not damage the pan ,and make sure the drain plug hasn,t been welded to pan ,sometime in the past.
