my uncle wants to sell me his old ford 600. i looked up serial number and found that it is 6403549. all the data i found says it is a 4 speed, pto and 3 point, and the 0 represents the year is 55-57, but the last four numbers makes me think it is a 1954, becuase it is only four digits long and fit in the 1-10,000 range making it a 1954. it runs great looks good, but might needs some gaskets replaced because since i got it running it is showing more leaks(very minor). i hoping someone on here can help me figure out what year it is and what it would be worth.

for more info on your tractor go to 8nford.com good site, indication is that your tractor is a 1954. i own a 1955 that i purchased in 2007, came with a decent shredder. purchased for $2,500.00, excellent condition with no problems. tractor prices vary according to location, others will be along to help i am sure.

The 600s are a great tractor . I have a 1956 640 that I paid 3,300.00 for in 98 . I had to put some money into it though . I also had a Sherman hi/lo installed . It made it even better . Price varies according to your location . But ole Unc oughts sell it cheaper since you had to get it running even before buying it . But at times , relatives are the worst to deal with . Good luck & God blesss, Ken

The 600 series was introduced as a '55 model, but production started in late '54... so you probably have a '55 model that was built in Sept. or Oct. of '54.

Could well be one that was made in 1954 but it would still be called a 1955 because tractors like cars are made before the end of the year and call the next year as for years made. I.E. you can buy a 2010 car in 2009

I just bought a really nice 641 for $1750.00. Has good tires, clean sheet metal, and iron wheel weights all around. Still have to pick it up. Had to give him $1750.00 for the Massey 35 sitting in front of it while I was at it. Exactly the same condition too. Seems he didn't want to move it so I could get to the Ford. Oh well, I'll flip a coin to see which one gets cleaned up and sold to pay for the other.
