ok a eldely man has a old oliver tractor its been over grown by weeds and brush his sons cleand up around it last yr so now you can see it its been repainted and there is no lettering on it to say what it is i am thinking of buying it how do you tell if its a 60 or 70 or 77 so on its rough but thinking he will sell it to me cheep as he wants it gone thanks for any help

The 60 & 66 are 4 cylinder models. Look at it and see which way the oil filter sets. Vertical on a 66, horizonal on a 60. Both the 70 & 77 are 6 cylinder. The 70 has the manifold on the right side (setting on the seat) the 77 on the left side. Casting numbers on the block for a 70 should be D600### On the 77 the numbers will be 1M something.

A picture is worth.........well,you know the saying. We could narrow it down if you know how many cylinders the engine has.

A 60 and 66 has four and a 70 and 77 has six.Photo would be helpful.

I've seen the numbers of 60-70-80 prominent in the front pedestal under the radiator on these tractors, Not sure about the later 66-77-88 tractors. These numbers are cast into the pedestal.

you know i didnt think to look but i think its 6 clyinder the motor but like i said its rough the exhust and intake is cracked and rusted to pieces i did turn it over a little bit so its not stuck has fenders with what looks like a flat top extention it has one remote and no 3 point has oliver rocrop on the back axle wide front
