Hayride Wagons

Does anyone know of a source for tie-rod type wagons of the hayride size?
We bought a John Deere wagon new in'51, frame and wheels only, and my dad built a bed - not too complicated. I would be willing to do the same.
Does anyone still sell new wagons like that? I can't find them even on the Deere website.
New or used, they are harder to find than the tractors!

Friend of mine has a nice Minnesota 6ton gear with a wood deck for sale in northern MN. Very tight wagon yet. $500. Don't know where you're located though.

Whereaboutsareyou? Many/most of the cotton gins have gone to modules and have cotton trailers in 24-40 ft lengths just rusting down. Most of 'em are 5th wheel (which were much perferred down South) rather than auto-type steering.

Kory mfg of Manlius, IL and Knowles of Manitowoc, WI make nice wagons of all sizes. Both have websites and contact info. Speaking of hard to find tractors, do you know where I can find an Essex Tri-Directional?

I just came inside after spending a few hours on the "parade" haywagon I'm building. It's on a JD 10 T running gear. Lots of those old small (40 Bu) gravity boxes on farm sales here in SD.
I bought this one on a sale, and it's perfect, still had nice original paint and decals, for $150. I asked the back bidder if he wanted the box, (hyd lift) and he said yes. So I sold him the box for 50 bucks and we unbolted it and lifted it off. Pulled the gear home at 40 mph and it tracked pervectly.
Have you priced implement tires? 95$ for a 9.5 L 8 ply.
I'm all ready to varnish the new bed, waiting for some mild temps and we're supposed to get a foot of snow Monday Night.

Bill,I found an Essex Tri directional up here way out in the woods.Someone rebuilt the engine in it and put it in wrong so it only goes in one direction now.This one has the rare 5cyl radial diesel. Hoss{somewhere in Maine-I think}

Just an insurance question to mess up things. Are you wanting to do hayrides? If so, in order to be safe, shoot all lawyers in a 50 mile radius. Otherwise if some kid stubs their toe, you will get sued for about a godzillion dollars.

I am in California and am getting information on availability, pricing, location(s), etc. for wagons at this time.
Storage and transport for both wagons and tractors of interest (JD H, B, A and/or G) are other issues I am working on also.
Thanks for the input from all of those replying.

Northern tools at Northerntools.com has all kinds of running gear with which to make haywagons for hayrides. Mine is an old Sears that is exactly what is offered at Northern Kids love the hayrides at shows. Last fall we hauled about 400 people for rides in about a six hour period. I could have made mine 16 ft long but decided to keep it at 12 ft so I could keep better control of the riders. Henry
