O/T Solar Heating?

Has anyone out there had any experience good or bad with solar heating for swimming pools? Thanks

Saw a setup once where a fellow just threw a coil of black plastic pipe over his south facing roof. Filter pump circulated water through it. Apparently did the job!

just like Ray said for summer and in the winter we heat it with our outdoor wood stove with a water to water heat exchanger

That will work. There is a rollup tube you can buy to attach to the roof or just thinwall 126 PVC painted black will work. Keep it circulating during freezing weather or drain it completely to keep it from bursting. Bear in mind that the lonjer the water remains in the system (per cycle) the warmer the water. Dwell time is important. Henry

The bubble wrap type plastic covers seem to help quite a bit if that's what your talking about. My parents had one on theirs and it definitely helped. We ended up getting the reel for it which made it a lot easier to take on and off. Just make sure when its rolled or folded up you keep it covered and out of the sun or it will cook itself together and damage it.
