Is a broken 9 bolt hub safe to weld

Hey I have a 1949 B john deere i bought a set of 9 bolt hubs and pressed steel rims, today i pulled my hub off and its broke just wanting to know if i had sumbody weld it, would it hold or just crumble again

Id cut a steel ring that will fit the backside of it and weld er up and wouldnt be a bit sceered of it. Hoss(maker of fine cigar ashes since 1969}
 
befor you start strike a arc on it if it has a lot of fis or spater its cast iorn and yes you can weld it up and it should be fine v it out good and pre heat it befor you start welding use cast rods that have a lot of nickel in them pean it bettween passes and wire brush dont be afraid to beat on it the peaning will keep it from cracking when you are all done post heat it and bury it in sand dry sand and leave it till the next day clean it paint it up and you will be good to go now if it welds normal it would be cast steel and i would weld it with 8018 or better rods pre heat as befor and post heat no peaning needed but post heat it a bit and put it in the sand clean ,paint and your good to go
