OT/one more fix...

One more broken tractor to fix then I'm ready to call an auctioneer! Man...spring work ain't even started yet and it's getting expensive and exasperating. Broke a shift rail in the one that isn't fixed yet, blew a loaded 18.4x38 on another one last week, cost me almost $1000 to fix that. Broke a big 120 pitch chain on the V-Max spreader, had to go 30 miles each way for parts, twice. Then I broke the axle in half on the Gehl spreader. I'm seriously considering a new career in the exciting world of flea market vending. Combines about everything I love to do. Sitting on my duff, lying to strangers and taking their money. Heck,I wouldn't even have to buy anything to resell for at least 10 years. It'd take that long to get rid of all the junk that I have!

Don't give up your gonna have almost new equipment if ya keep fixin, I can see your dismay though kinda gettin to be afraid to pee.

Heh Heh Heh BTDT. Quit 1981.Farm Mgr.and 9 siblings let me know how things are going every Febuary. Not bad last year for a change.

Which one do you have? This is the left one on the later 1550 and 1555. Worthington,Maibach and Stamm all had the early one, part number 160 378-A. Mine uses the later 164 099-A. Owosso Tractor Parts has a 1555 that they're going to open up tomorrow. Bob said he was pretty sure it would be the right one,but if it isn't,or if there's something wrong with it,I'm up a creek. New ones are NLA through Agco.

In theory. But if yours eats an engine, just remember to replace the clutch bearing while youre in there....
