farm auction tv add

There is going to be a farm sold at auction about a mile across the field from my house April 4th. I have never seen a farm auction add on tv before but just did. He had his equipment sale last Saturday and I have never seen such a crowd. Rather than fight to park I parked at another neighbor's tobacco barn and walked down the road a few hundred yards. Seen trucks from as far away as Florida! He is not even selling any of his row crop ground, just house, barns, and six broiler houses. He has been asking 1.2 for the 25 acres with the buildings and has had at least 2 buyers back out at the last second. Have people started puting farm sale adds on tv in other parts? Any body want to be my nighbor?

There was a very high dollar farmsite for sale near me for a couple of years, fella got a big chunk of money from developers by the 'Cities & turned it into a huge fancy house & sheds & a large heated, air conditioned work shop, new large grain setup, etc etc. It was out of place for the location. Way too fancy for a working farmer, way too big for a retired farmer, too much farm stuff included & too remote for a retiring AGI investor....

I didn't see it on TV, but they went through 2 realitors & had an auction or 2 to sell it. Ads were everywhere. Looking for that one person that could swing it & would want to.

Don't know if it ever did sell yet, it was just too much, too big, for the ecconomy & location - on a gravel road. More in it than anyone else could afford.

We sold out in 2004 and the auction company ran TV ads for 10 days prior to the auction. I suspect with more & more newspapers going out of business we"ll see more TV advertising in the coming years.
