Well the weatherman continues to keep missing his rainfall prediction. Got a one & one-half at Mesonet station eight miles away. Here at the farm we got dust in the drive. You never try to out guess when you irrigate. Just keep pumping,They are predicting snow yet this week. That will be a sight sprinkler running in a snow storm.

What sort of sprinkler are you talking about?

Out here in the Panhandle - folks run them down to about 23-24 degrees for lows, but if it is windy or if you have leaks up on top where it will freeze falling down over the structure, and you run any colder than that, it sure risks collapsing one from the weight of the ice...

Which Mesonet site are you closest to?

Here in MN we had a very wet fall, a very white winter, and tho a promising early melt-off here in the south, it is setting up for a very wet spring.

Lot of field work did not get done last fall, if it stays wet & cool it will be a challenging spring to get corn in.

North of me several 100 miles is the Red River flooding, that is a special deal as the river runs north into frozen ice, and has very little fall - as little as 12 inches per mile in some areas. Not a good situation.
