I rebuilt a TO 30 Z 129 engine and reversed the rear main bearing. (Bottom on the top, top on the bottom. Will this affect the oil trasfer to the top of the head? I"m not getting any oil to the rocker arms. Would like to know before I put in a new bearing.

The oil flow from the rear main bearing supplies the rear camshaft bearing and the rocker arm.

By the way you might get a quicer esponse if you use the Ferguson Forum for your TO-30 questions.

Can't the bearing be taken off an installed correctly? Or is it a used one that you thought you would get a few more hours out of by reversing it?

Or the Massey Ferguson forum.

Somehow we (MFers) got grouped with the Massey Harris folks, which I ain't complaining but we have about as much in common as a hog does with a side saddle.

Not that I mind, as nothing looks neater than a clean 444 in the field.

But the MF's have a lot more in common with the old fergies than the wheatfield MH's.

Heck sometimes the wifes calls me "That old M'er F'er". Not sure what she means by that... She must like my Massey!

I would think that the bearing could simply be reinstalled properly. Was the rocker pedestal installed correctly? How about the holes in the rocker shaft? The IT manual has the MF65 shaft installation backward. It prevents top end oiling. Holes in the rocker shaft face the pushrods. Perhaps the 30 is the same.

You may be able to remove the pan, and slip the bearing around the crank. I believe there is a little piece that can be put in the crank hole to help spin the bearing out. Stan
