Was coming home the other day driving up the Interstate, saw a lot of smoke to the west. Called a friend in the local fire dept. It turned out that the fire was 80 miles away.

It was blowing so hard today, that 12 illegal Mexicans fell out of the sky, and landed in the local chicken plant....

LOL...I hear that happens pretty frequently...just 12?
The local firefighters are having a heck of a time with one of the fires just south of Kearney, NE. We have a lot of out of state sandhill crane viewers in the area...hope they know to get out of the way of the fire...I've attached a video.

I didn"t see any wind damage today but was in the Wichita area for a birthday party rather than in Hutchinson where in town damage did occur.

A lot of the wind problems in Kansas were high profile vehicles being blown over. Here is a link to a news story telling of nine going over.

It sounds like it's going to turn around today and blow from the north at about the same strength....be on the lookout for any Husker or KSU Wildcat ballcaps blowing by.
