OT need help/advice

I have a model A engine, Dont know the year but its a flat head 4 cyl,at first i thought it was a ford tactor engine but the guy said it was out of a model A truck and i got the frame too,No cab just the frame,What would be a fair price to ask for the engine and frame.Thanking you in advance. James

I sold an old Chrysler 4 cylinder flat head engine and attached transmission with it on ebay for a friend of mine and he got a little over $300 for it. It then went over seas to a collector.

Are the rear axle and tranny there? If so is the diff a worm drive or ring n pinion? Is the tranny a three speed or four? From the limited experience I've had with A (or AA) trucks the older worm drive rear ends are fairly plentiful but the ring and pinion rears from the later models are harder to come by and therefore worth more ($350.00?). The three speed tranny is the same as the car tranny and was only used in the early trucks (not worth much). Then the trucks went to a four speed. If it's three speed does it have a little round tranny behind the three speed? That's a dealer added planetary two speed that might be worth more.

If you have a bare frame with a stuck engine, then you have basically scrap iron. Don't give it away if you have valuable parts on it. Good luck. Jim

Model A engines themselves are worth little more than scrap- because a zillion model A's have been made into hot rods with modern engines, and the old 4 banger is still sitting in the corner of the shop, and will probably be readily given away to anyone willing to haul it off.
