O/T Spring is coming

Some of the farmers here in Highland, Il are putting on Anhydrous already and working the ground with field cultivators and the dust is flying. Some rain is expected tonight and tomorrow. Everyone is working up their gardens too! I'm going to wait on mine for a couple of weeks yet. Don't plan on putting much out like last year!

Hearing spring noises, seeing bees and bats here. Tulips, crocus' and easter flowers are coming up and trees are budding. It's here.

The last 4 days have been sunny and dry, highs about 60 or so, melted the last of the snow piles, frost is still coming and going, got about 25 various logs to gather up from the old fence lines and a 20 acre field with perimeters to clear of fallen trees/limbs from that Dec. ice storm, before the farmer gets out their, storm sure made a mess, and nice to be done with that before it gets hot and the bugs are out.

Fields still too wet, but this weather will thaw and dry things up, when it rains hopefully the frost is gone. Good time of year to be out their early before the sun melts the frost.

Farmers will be out in a few weeks to do field work, if the weather cooperates.

Diving ducks are in the pond, still has ice on most of it, a sure sign of spring though, only see em this time of year, fun to watch go under and come up with fish.

Our rhubarb and tulips are up, but it's not very warm here in NE MD near the PA & DE line. I was hoping to plow garden last Sat, but the ground was still a little wet and I don't plant any early veg such as cabbage. They have it on sale for 9 cents a pound. So I replaced the garbage disposal on Sat. since the old one was noisy and vibrating. Installed another 1hp Kenmore that we bought back in the 90's from Sears Surplus that's been sitting on a shelf in the basement.

In n.e. Tx, dogwoods are blooming, redbuds are almost done, other trees blooming, grass coming on as well as the weeds. Spring and fall are my favorite seasons.
