Spring Fieldwork

Has anyone started any spring field work yet? Or has anyone seen any fieldwork started in your area yet? I can't wait to get into the fields this spring and see how my freshly rebuilt Oliver 1650 pulls. I would think a few weeks yet before we see much fieldwork here in East-Central Wisconsin. Spring is coming!!! It's supposed to be 50 or so here today, almost 60 by Tuesday. We still have some snow on the ground here.

Went to Lockwood Mo. yesterday to an equipment open house, they were knifing in anhydros, and planting corn..

I've started getting corn land ready. A friend's father has already planted some sweet corn, but he's taking a big chance. You can't really plant corn around here till about the 3rd week of March.

That thing looks great! What a good restoration job. Your neighbors are going to think Oliver started building tractors again.

Every thing either sloppy wet or froze. Lot of winter left yet I think. Would like my volunteer rye to get a good period of growth before I spread manure and plow. Didnt want to plow but I dont think the disk will get the manure deep enough. We'll see. Gonna be while for me,.

I was in the field Thursday and Friday. and most of my neighbores were or have been too. I don't think anyone has planted yet. I hope to put sweet corn in late next week depending on the rain they have forcast for tonight and tomorrow.
Also our Ray City plow day is Saterday.

Got one neighbor hauling manure up & down the road, but that's it. It'll be a good 4-5 weeks before we'll really be able to start doing much.

Yup, got my potatos and collards in the dirt last week. Had a week of dry weather and temps in the 70s. Very nice tractor. Would love to own a tractor with my name on it.
