1936 F20 ran again first time this year.

It set outside all winter, as is has all it's life. Left gas tank empty last fall so no dead gas. Put 5 gallon in, started on 3rd pull. My youngest stepson and his girlfriend are here right now, I have always been curious just how fast it moves down the road in BEHLEN overdrive. 12 MPH at idle, 22 or better full throttle, had him follow me to get the speeds. Your really 'lopin along, front wheels probably wobbling a little, gears howling..I can hear it..Uncle Herb had a Farmall Regular with a Behlen to make a 15 mile move from one farm to another easier. That old engine loafing, whiff of exhaust in the face once in a while. His Farmall seemed to wiggle unlike the SC Case or the 1939 JD A..I think it was the frame design, not sure.
Garrison Keillor (Prarie Home Companion radio show) had a story about his uncle letting him drive the old Farmall on a load of manure to spread...he was just a kid but he felt 10 feet tall..a yarn that really resonated with my childhood! Thanks for the memories. Leo
