What are the 40 ft. overseas containers going for in your area? I am thinking about buying one for storage. Love to read your answers. Thanks in advance.

ot one of the nicest ones on the lot for $2600 in Oct 07. They had units in various condition from $1757 to $2800. Call mobile mini, Steve Killough for a quote at 800-515-6464. Treated me right.
 
My son had one sitting in his yard till the county got after him. Said it could only be a temporary unit and he needed a permit for that. He couldn't keep it as a permanent storage unit. You might want to check before buying one.
 
My friend put one in my back yard it cost $3500 with an extra door in the side. they are real ice all wood inside and lots of room.

I hear they work real nice to put two side by side, about 12 foot apart, with a drive-way roof over them.
 
The one I have spotted is $3,150.00. That's the total price. They also deliver it 50 miles to my place and set it up free. The container is near new, but I think it's still a little high.

Around here you can find sea containers from many sources and have a lot listed on places like craigslist but I do live within 50 miles of a major port (New Orleans).
For a water/wind tight 20' the price runs from $1500 to $2000 and a 40' would run from $2000 to $2500. This is just for the container and delivery; setup; and tax would be extra.

If you live near the coast (Houston) $3150 may be a tad high but in the middle of the state that price sounds about right.
 
I just bought one a month ago Feb. 6th out of Denver and the 40 foot was 2250.00 but freight 200 miles and using a tilt bed trailer, brought the the total to 3100.00
