Fergason TO30

I recently purchased a TO30 and am wondering if I need to mix a lead additive to the gas as I did with a previous 9N? Also, do I need to use non-detergant oil as well. I am unaware if engine over-haul has taken place.

All the lead stuff is snake oil and it does not help any thing in any engine. Only thing the stuff is good for is to keep a company rich. Shoot the stuff doesn't even have lead in it. As for oil detergent oil is just fine and if it hasn't had it the filter will just do its job any way and take care of any thing that works loose

I second old's opinion. If you look in the Ferguson manual, they recommend detergent oil in a round about way and say you can use non-detergent oil. As far as leasd additives, save your money; you don't need them.
