Is there a web site or telephone number to call to find out if a tractor is stolen? I have the serial number but have no idea how to check it. It's a new holland. thanks

I looked at a Kubota once and called the Kubota dealer and had them at least check that it didn"t have a loan on it from Kubota. Found out they sold it new and it was bought and paid for from the guy who was selling it. Gave me piece of mind in buying it that no one was going to come knock on the door later.

I"d at least call your local New Holland dealer and have them check it.

I know a dairy farmer who bought a used skid loader two years later the sheriff came looked at the ser # and said it was stolen. they wanted to take it that day but the farmer said he had to feed cows so they gave him two days. he had to buy another one and the guy that sold it to him is paying him $120 a month till he pays back the $9500. and I think he goes to jail on the weekends.
when I was a machinery salesmen we would go to the county court house to see if there was any leans or loans against the tractor before we took it on trade.
I can't spell it but do you know the saying " let the buyer beware"

called the local NH dealer. found out it was bought by the seller. good piece of mind. thanks for the replys.

The saying for buyer beware is: Caveat emptor!
It applies to checking things out before you lay your money down!
