I'm a regular skeet shooter (the clay type) and also reload alot. I've seen shotgun shell lights (christmas lights inside of shotgun hulls) for sale online. These would add a nice "touch" for the hunting cabin. Has anybody ever made them? I can't tell from the pics how they are made. I've got plenty of lights and shells. Thanks in advance!

I have a set of shotgun shell lights. Pretty sure they're homemade. They're nothing more than used shells with the open ends hot glued on the light string.

I've seen them a time or two now also. I've heard about them home made a couple different ways. The first is just to refold the shell back around the light and glue it shut. The other, since you're a reloader, is to pop out the spent primer and refold the shell with nothing in it, and then stick a light into the hole where the primer is.

Just a thought here...if you're making your own,you might use LED's, because they generate less heat than incandescent bulbs. In a plastic shot shell, that might be important.

my husband made a set for me two Christmas' ago. We hang them above the fireplace. They look great. Would love to get my hands on a few more empty shells so we could make more and put on the Christmas tree. If you have any extra...please let me know.
thanks
