Wanted to pick up a fer SMV embelms so I don"t have to play musical SMVs on the wagons and tractors this summer. Checked at TSC Almost $12 a copy. Ones without the metal backing are almost as expensive as the ones on metal. Holy cow - Batman!

I think last year I spent a couple hundred dollars on SMV emblems and reflective tape for my implements. I spent way more then that on warning lights and wiring.

Pretty cheap compared to giving your farm to lawyers if somebody rear-ends you. You're right though-the ones made to the new standard are pricey, but they are far better. DOT approved conspicuity tape is even more outrageously priced. I do want to start replacing all my big truck and trailer lights with LED's as they seem to be a lot more reliable. I have been waiting for the price to come down, but it seems the price is steady now.

I have been buying LEDs at a truck supply not far from my house and getting them for 12 bucks, I thought that pretty cheap because the same oblong bayonet style light is 30 at TSC. I have all LEDs now on most of my tractors and am trying to get them on all my implements that are not already factory lighted. Non- LEDs seem to burn out from the vibration.

The $10.00 one does NOT meet the Illinois 267.5 standards. I have both styles, the old 267.4 and the new 267.5. The first time you pull up behind the new style at night you can IMMEDIATELY tell the difference. The new ones are worth it to save your fanny. I also use LOTS of DOT tape on the tractor and equipment, especially the outside edges. DOUG

DOT C2 is less than $1.00 ft if you buy it right. 150 ft on Ebay BIN $89.99, shipping $10.00 = $99.99 total. 150 feet for 100 dollars is 67 cents per foot. Pretty cheap for making sure people know the edges of your equipment. DOUG
