O.T. Neighbors

Most of us probably have neighbors that show no more outward signs of distress than this man did. Maybe we should reach out to them.

Whenever I read about someone who does this type of thing I always think that someone had to know he had a screw or two loose. Every body has a few off the wall relatives, friends or co-workers but people who are capable of this type action must stand out as more than just wierdos. I"ve always heard that a Mother knows her son best, it would be awfully hard for the average Mother to admit her son is damaged goods.

I didn't click on the link, but I know a man in western Canada,I'm from Canada too,but I don't know the guy;anyways last year he held up a bus with a knife (nobody could overtake him with a gun up here, gun laws) and decapatated another passenger. You know what he was convicted with?Absolutely nothing."Poor guy was troubled,""voices in his head told him to do it"."Now he has to suffer the rest of his life knowing what he did,"well the other guy is 6',well more like 4'6" under. They need to seriously look at the pennal system up here.pd.

It sure makes you feel sad when things like this happen.

Hope I am not on any ones hit list. I have had to work with a few strange people in my day.

Seeing as the human brain is in essence nothing more than a chemical computer. I hope some day they can do a scan and see if some ones brain is out of ballance and correct these things. Or at least be able to block irrational thought from unstable individuals.

"He was kind of reserved and to himself. I can"t tell you one bad thing about him," said Weeks, who lives in nearby Enterprise. "I don"t remember him ever getting in any kind of trouble."

This seems to be the general feelings among neighbors about this man. Do we round up everyone who never gets in trouble just to be on the safe side? No, I don"t have the answer and I suspect no one else does. TDF

That was precisely my point, it is virtually impossible to tell who is a real whacko and who is just different.

Quiet reserved types go about their business, but don't get to blow off steam. We - er, I mean, they - are the pressure pots in society. We - er, they are often pretty quiet, respectful, and keep to themselves.

If something pushes them byond what they can handle - and often they are handling thewir own & other people's problems - they got no place to go, no place to vent, don't know what to do.

Well, things blow up then.

I've seen it happen around me, with a lot of quieter, real good type of people.

In the real world, I'm a pretty shy quiet person.

Found the internet, & I got someplace to talk, complain, help.... Nice thing.

Bet a lot of folk on the internet can look in a mirror....

What is really good is after all is said and done, how all his neighbors and 'friends' will have NO problem bad mouthing him to the media.

Once again the media is at fault for sticking their noses into a person's life. The filth of the media have NO respectibility, but equally reprehensible are those that will talk to the media.

He won't suffer at all but the parents of the young bloke he beheaded will. This guy was in a mental institute and walked out.He then committed the crime, found not guilty , and is retained for treatment, The news item said he may be out in 18 months. WHY.. to do the same again. Wonderful.

Is there a site that tracks crimes commited by cops, ex-cops, or cop wannabes? My experience around here, is that I am more afraid of our cops than the criminals.

Our family founded this county in central MO., I live on the farm that has been in the family over 100 years, have a BS degree in Agriculture from MU and my wife is a retired teacher with her masters. We are not flakes so I write this in all seriousness.

You cannot pay your law enforcement officers peanuts and expect to recruit quality personnel.

GeneMO, I somewhat know how you feal, my wife is a retired cop who is loosing her eyesight trying to help someone, my point is all cops are not alike! They are people just like farmers, there's good ones and bad ones
