OT Is this the end?

Woke up to 17 below zero aain this AM , it's supposed to be the last of the cold and I know it sounds like I'm a broken record but, MAKE IT STOP!!!! This is really starting to suck, can't get implements out to even get ready for spring, and I want to try out the new 1755 Ollie. You southern guys and gals must have some new pictures to share. Help out a poor cabin fever victim. :>)

I think you are sending a small amount of that cold toward me in SC, 80 degrees yesterday, supposed to be 40 degrees cooler Friday.

-26 in East central MN this morning, and of course my best cow in the herd has to drop a calf unexpectedly outside. I found it about 4:45 this morning, moved another cow I had inside back out to make room for the new baby, it was covered in frost, but I got it dried off with a blanket and up and nursing. Should be fine, just will likely have frozen ears. They were pretty stiff.

There would be no amount of money nor anything else that wouldget me to live in places where there is that much snow and cold. e/se Ohio would be like Florida compared to the places you describe, but it is till MUCH too cold for my liking, but for now I'm stuck here. Maybe some day.. TEXAS!

Wow... makes my -9 seem almost warm in comparison. (not that far from you... just outside Ladysmith) I know what you mean... I want to get ready for planting too. Headed to Stockwell's sale Saturday... should either ease or compound the cabin fever.

Sorry to be so harsh, but we have to face reality, and take what God gives us, that's why I say, if you don't like it, then move to where you could like it better,

All venting does is makes the conditions worse,

Disappointment should always be taken as a stimulant, and never viewed as a discouragement.

It won't be long now. I saw this morning on the way home from work where one of the "big boys" here has been putting down NH3. Its been too wet for me to go out and push limbs out of the fields but they are going like it's mid May.

62 deg this AM headed for mid 70's today. Most everyone has their gardens plowed and some have planted tomatoes; and have corn breaking the ground already.

hoo-ya, i am itching for some spring too. saw my first robin yesterday, ne illinois. supposed to be in the 40's this weekend. had a lot of rain here lately, lot of ponding in the fields, creeks and rivers running real high. gonna need some wind and warm weather to dry things down 'fore any field work can be done. i 'd like to get a little dry spell so i can burn off ditches and fencelines before it gets too late. course about mid june we'll all be grumping about how hot it is!!!!

How does venting make things worse?? It's a good (safe!) way to relieve some stress. We also like to vent about the cold because of the Global Warming B.S. (a THEORY being presented as FACT) that's pushed at us all the time.

Yup, ya'll sent it this way. Stop it! It was 80 on Tuesday, 42 on Wed. and supposed to be 42 today. We went from running the a/c Tuesday am, to heat Tuesday pm.

Long range forecast - 82 by next Wednesday.

Planted tomatoes at the farm last w/e. Hayfield had coastal bermuda sprouts in Feb.

Yup, we'll probably be complaining about the hot days real soon, but that's life.

Actually, this is pretty much a normal winter, which we haven"t had for quite a few years. Yes, a bit colder than normal. You"ll still have the same amount of get ready time for the equipment, once it warms to that point. Just later than recent years.

I know its more of a normal winter, just lookin forward to spring and trying to get some pictures posted, I love the plowing and planting pictures etc. But no matter how you look at it 17 below just aint normal for this time of year. average highs are in the 40 + range.

How about a video of Nancy spraying our hay meadow on Valentine's Day.

I think the temperature was in the upper 50's.

Hang in there - global warming is on it's way.

Don't have any Pictures but the news here near Wickenburg Az. today is low 80's this afternoon for a Hi Temperature. At 11 Am it is cloud free, sun shine and 68'. We have our problems here as well as any where else but a warm climate helps to conquer the problems.JC

James You did a good job on the sound track of that Deere, some you tube videos come on too loud and distorted

The only thing that bothers me is I thought it was all Deere country on that farm.

Deere's and Chevy Pickups and homemade apple pie go together, but whats that blue thing ?????
LOLROF!!

The "blue thing" is a Ford 2810 that belonged to my dad.

He bought the tractor new in 1983.

He and my mother came to the bank in Jefferson, TX where I was working and "took out" a loan to buy the tractor.

He didn't want to spend all that money at once so he paid it out over time.

That tractor is the only thing I can remember that he ever bought "on time".

He always paid cash.

Sure do miss him and my mother.

Little Ford comes in really handy when loading round bales on the trailer.

Also use it to haul wood to the house to be cut up for firewood.

Hauled it to Pocahontas, AR last weekend to load a JD #3 sickle mower.

A man can't have too many "handy" tractors no matter what the color.
