I have a Gravely 7.6HP Series L with rotary mower, plow, snowplow and belt-drive PTO. Each of the attachments has its own drive clutch. Clutch plate pressure is adjusted by six bolts bearing on springs. Does anyone know the adjustment procedure for these clutches?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My gravely manual tells me "Place a flat bar in the driving slotsof the Slip Clutch. Hook a pair of spring scales on the bar 12" from the CENTER of the Clutch. Then adjust the spring tensionby tightening or loosining the 6 bolts EVENLY so that it takes 30 to 36 pounds of pressure to make the clutch slip. " Spring scales are not cheap so you might want to rig up something that would allow you to use a torque wrench. I confess I never have done anything that fancy. Iusually just back off all the cluch bolts and torque them down evenly till it seems right. Rude and crude but what the hey?
