scam the equipment scammers

I was inspired by the post about scamming scammers so here is a little bit of my own. I"m trying to sell a tedder on Craigslist and one person is a little too interested. When they asked about owner financing and leaving a down payment here was my reply:

I forgot to ask, did you want the sand piper attachment that goes with it? I also have some spare bearing stretchers that you may find helpful during routine maintenance. They can be operated with a metric adjustable wrench if you have one of those. These would be an extra cost but I might throw them in if you were very interested. These items are in excellent shape and were recently dipped in a bucket of steam to remove any grease.

To which they said: If it would make my life easier, yes I would be interested in seeing them.. I am not familiar with the sandpiper attachment. Can you explain or describe that?

What should I say next?

I wouldn't do any more replies unless you find it amusing. What's the outcome going to be?
You're just waisting your time because you know they're scammers and not going to buy it from you!

When I worked for an electronics company, it was common to tell outsiders that our receivers had an "oxfilter" in them. That was to strain out the BS.

You don't know what a sandpiper attachment is?

when tedding this is rubber attachment to help the Autobahn society to save the birds cause it don't destroy their in ground nests nests.

Surprised you didn't know that ---LOL

I would take the down payment then not send him the item. If he is real he will surely let you know if not you may just come out ahead.

I got some of those emails. Just tell them to pay in cash when they come to pick it up. Never seem to get a reply
